«Aýdyň Gijeler» and the Kingdom of Eswatini Advance to a New Level of Strategic Partnership
Abu Dhabi, 28–29 May 2026 In Abu Dhabi, His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini granted an audience to a delegation of the economic society «Aýdyň Gijeler», led by Director General Hydyrberdi Abdurakhmanov. The talks resulted in landmark agreements on the launch of a large-scale joint project in the field of next-generation secure identity documents and the supply of high-tech products. Audience with His Majesty During the meeting held on 28 May 2026, His Majesty King Mswati III expressed his readiness to provide full state support for the implementation of the joint project, which envisages the production and supply of 1,500,000 national identification cards and more than 500,000 biometric passports for the citizens of the Kingdom of Eswatini. The documents will be produced on the basis of the highly secure chip platform of the European manufacturer Austrian Cards, applying modern cryptographic and biometric technologies that meet the requirements of ICAO and the European Union. The audience was attended by senior representatives of the state leadership of the Kingdom on the Eswatini side. The agreements reached are strategic in nature and lay the foundation for long-term institutional cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Eswatini in the fields of digital identification, document management, telecommunications, lighting technology, road infrastructure and information technology. Meetings with Members of the Government of the Kingdom As part of the working visit, the «Aýdyň Gijeler» delegation also held separate bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Home Affairs and the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Eswatini. The parties discussed the practical aspects of project implementation, the alignment of technical specifications, the delivery schedule, and the establishment of the contractual and legal framework in accordance with the national legislation of the Kingdom and the international obligations of the parties. A Historic Decision: Production on the Territory of Eswatini A key outcome of the talks was the personal directive of His Majesty King Mswati III to allocate 4 hectares of land to «Aýdyň Gijeler» on the territory of the Kingdom for the establishment of its own production facilities. This decision elevates Turkmen–Eswatini cooperation to a qualitatively new level and opens prospects for the further expansion of the Turkmen private sector's presence on the African continent. «Aýdyň Gijeler» is proud to note that it is the first private-sector enterprise of Turkmenistan to reach the level of strategic cooperation with the Kingdom of Eswatini, thereby laying a solid foundation for the further development of Turkmen–Eswatini trade and economic ties. Acknowledgements «Aýdyň Gijeler» expresses its sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini and to the Government of the Kingdom for the trust and support extended. Special words of appreciation go to the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar, whose wise state policy, aimed at the comprehensive support of national entrepreneurship and the strengthening of Turkmenistan's international standing, provides a solid foundation for such historic achievements for the benefit of our independent, permanently neutral Motherland.
